PSW Intern Program

LEARN WHILE YOU EARN

Knowledge is the single most important key to your success.

Caring for the frail elderly requires knowledge and skills designed for an in-home setting. Senior Watch Home Care agencies hire full-time employees as a preference. However, there are special situations where weekend work only is required. In those circumstances part-time employment  may be available.. with the possibility  of increasing  those hours toward full-time employment.

Part-time employees can also work toward increasing their education modules in caring for the elderly by taking the courses offered by the Senior Watch Care-Ed Learning Centre. All Personal Care Aides can increase their wage rate by completing modules and other acceptable courses that relate to the care of the elderly.

The Internship Program is an employment offer to qualified students who want to gain an advanced experience gaining more responsibility while working in the Senior Watch Home Care Services.  The student is evaluated throughout the modules attained. Workshops like First Aid and CPR from the Care-Ed Learning will be maintained. Qualifications to enter the Intern Program are judged by the Chief Learning Officer, the PSW Instructor, and the mentors who saw the hands on actions of the student during the Mentoring Program. Care-Ed provides the student with certificates of achievement, transcripts, and work hours accomplished during this session.

Senior Watch offers unique programs on the leading edge of human resource training in the home care sector.  Upon program completion, you will earn the NB Apprenticeship and Occupational Certification, Personal Support Worker, Journeyperson ID Card.  Additional courses are gerontology-based programs for nurses in Foot Care Management and Home Care Management. All training is supervised by a Registered nurse with specialized training in Gerontology and Social Work.
