Care-Ed Learning Centre

As the population ages, caring for seniors is fast becoming a major component of Canada’s health care system.

The goal of Care-Ed, the Learning Centre of Senior Watch is to provide research-based knowledge and skill-building opportunities for both career and family caregivers.

CONSIDER A CAREGIVER CAREER

Be Part of the Family…Consider a rewarding career with Senior Watch®.

Care-Ed Learning, officially established in 2007, is the educational division of Senior Watch Inc. The Learning Centre values life-long learning through student engagement and considers prior learning experiences when assessing caregivers. We offer great options for training and gaining experience as a caregiver. Earn your certificate through hands-on practicums, peer-to-peer learning opportunities, classroom lectures and mentoring.

The commitment to education began when Senior Watch® was established in 1987. The focus continues to be in the preparation of persons seeking a caregiving career as well as support for family caregivers.

We also offer courses for First Aid and CPR, Back in Form, Foot Care Management and Foot Care Management Refresher, and Train the Trainer Programs.

Senior Watch Inc. is a member of the NB Association of Private Colleges and Universities (NBAPCU), the National Association of Regulated Career Colleges (NACC), and the NB Home Support Association (NBHSA). The organization is registered under the NB Private Occupational Training Act, and all instructors hold current licenses as RNs or LPNs.

Jean E. Porter Mowatt and Sharon A. O'Brien, SC; RN, PG; BSW, CG founded Senior Watch Inc. in 1987. After on-going research and development including hands-on experience in personal and home support care of the elderly, the Care-Ed Learning Centre was formed. The curriculum of the programs was developed and continues to be adjusted based on the ever- changing requirements of the families that we serve.
