Personal Support Worker Program

Care-Ed Learning has been teaching the Personal Support Worker (Home Care Aide, Personal Care Aide and Personal Support Worker) Certificate Programs since 1989. Courses are designed to meet the requirements of the New Brunswick Home Support Association.   Instructors have completed a "Train the Trainer" Program which focuses on the needs of the adult learner and tools for success in a caregiver career. All instructors are current members of their professional association.

The primary goal of the program is to provide caregivers with knowledge and skills to meet the complex gerontology needs of the 21st century older adult. Care-Ed’s unique hands-on approach to learning brings students together to share their experiences and encourage one another. Course material address's First Nation values and needs, involving available First Nation instructors in the development and delivery of the Personal Care Aide and Personal Support Worker programs.

Senior Watch Home Care Service Internship Program is an 742 hour course providing mentoring, classroom, team building, coaching, labs and reliability and accountability sessions.  This program is subsidized and candidates are employed by Senior Watch Home Care while completing course requirements.
